City to Grab United and Arsenal Hitmen Monday 13th July 2009
Manchester City are lining up a double swoop for two of the Premiership’s big name strikers.
Carlos Tevez, who has been linked with Manchester City for a while now, is looking set to complete a move to Eastlands. The out of contract forward is keen to find a new club as soon as possible, after his deal with United expired at the end of the season.
Tevez became a key player for United during the 08/09 season, scoring some very crucial goals to help them clinch the Premiership title.
His superb level of fitness and never ending determination on the field makes him a constant threat to opposition teams, making him a great signing for any club. (And a great selection for your Fantasy Stakes team!)
However City are not satisfied on signing just one star forward, oh no, they also want Emmanuel Adebayor. The Arsenal player has been linked to numerous clubs around Europe, with City being the latest, as rumours of serious discussions between the clubs come to light.
The Togolese striker has managed to hit double figures in his last two seasons with the Gunners, scoring 34 goals in his last 63 Premiership games for Arsenal.
These two would join new signing Santa Cruz at City, leaving Mark Hughes spoilt for choice when it comes to his attacking selection.
Fantasy Stakers should also note that Manchester City play Blackburn on the first day of the season, so selecting a strong City strike force in your team for the first round could pay dividends!
Forget Barca’s “Holy Trinity” ... How about a “Holy Quad” of Robinhio, Santa Cruz, Tevez and Adebayor!?
