Return of Former Gunner Sunday 28th June 2009
Former Arsenal star Alexander Hleb is reportedly eyeing a return to the Premier League.
The Barcelona midfielder has been frozen out at the Nou Camp and is desperate to play first-team football.
Fantasy Stakes players will know that Hleb produced many impressive performances for the Gunners and a number of clubs are interested in his signature.
Aston Villa, Everton and Manchester City have been sniffing around the player, and German outfit Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on him.
The 28-year-old made 89 appearances for Arsenal, finding the back of the net seven times.
But after a disappointing spell with the Catalan giants, he is desperate to enjoy the prime of his career.
He said: “I am right in the best years of my career and I do not want to spend those years on the bench.”
The Belarus international was bought from Arsenal for £11.8 million and is likely to demand a high transfer fee once more.
This makes nouveaux-riche Manchester City favorites to capture his signature, although it won’t just be a one-horse race to sign the star.
Hleb may want to play European football next season and the likes of Villa and Everton may be a more attractive option to him.
Fantasy football players will have to keep an eye on the former gunner as he looks to a make a Premier League return.
He is a player who can rack up a number of assist points and is a valuable asset to have in your side.
