Can Wolves Star Make the Grade? Sunday 21st June 2009
Wolves striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake was the top goal-scorer in the Championship last season and will be hoping to make an impact in the Premier League next season.
The 23-year-old has signed a new four-year contract with the Molineux club as they look to fight for top-flight survival next term.
Fantasy Stakes players will know that a regular goal scorer is like gold dust and Wolves fans will be delighted that Ebanks-Blake has committed his future to the cause.
It is always difficult for a newly-promoted club to establish themselves in the Premiership and Wolves will be hoping Ebanks-Blake can fire them to safety.
Chief Executive Jez Moxey was overjoyed that the forward had signed the new deal. “This is a reward to Sylvan for this outstanding goal scoring for the last two years.
“We want him to feel absolutely magnificent going into the Premier League, where hopefully he can do exceptionally well.
“It’s a big step up but he’s really happy about being here and sees his long-term future here too, and we feel we have to act accordingly.”
Many players have failed to bridge the gap between the Championship and the Premier League and fantasy football players may think twice before putting Ebanks-Blake in their side.
But the former Manchester United trainee will be keen to impress and defy the coaches at Old Trafford that decided to let him go in 2006.
Wolves fans will be delighted that he has signed a new contract at the club, and will be hoping that he can repay them by bagging a hatful of goals next season.
