One hour before the kick-off of the first game of the Round. Unlimited team changes are permitted prior to the cut-off time. A countdown to this time is displayed on the site.
The points will be calculated using data provided to Fantasy Stakes by PA Sport. Neither we nor PA Sport will enter into any correspondence relating to the allocation of points to players. We accept no responsibility for the accuracy of the data.
Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team who makes the last pass before a goal is scored.
If during this pass, an opposing player significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given except if this intervention directly results in an own goal.
If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the assist if a goal directly ensues.
In the event of a penalty, the player earning the penalty gets an assist if it is successfully scored, but not if he takes it himself in which case no assist is given. No assist is given for a player who earns a free kick that subsequently results in a goal.

Fantasy Football is a game in which participants select a team of real players from real teams (usually from the same league) to score points according to a pre-set scoring system. Points are scored according to the players' contributions in real matches. The "manager" whose players score the most points during the scoring period wins the prize.
Many Fantasy Football Competitions are run over the entire competition with a limited number of prizes on offer.
In Fantasy Stakes, you will select your Fantasy Football team and score points during a short term period, a set number of World Cup games. You may select a new team or teams for each round of fixtures.
Two other key differences with Fantasy Stakes compared to other Fantasy Football games are that you can select the staking level at which you wish to compete as well as the number of opponents you wish to challenge.
Fantasy Stakes winnings are achieved via a Pool Betting basis. This means that if you win or are placed in the league in which you compete, you will win a percentage of the total amount staked within that game.
You can choose to enter any league that is open. Of course, the lower the number of players, the greater your chances of winning a prize. The greater the number of players and the higher the stakes, the bigger the prize.

In knock-out games, such as the World Cup, events in extra-time count towards points. Clean sheets are only awarded over 120 minutes in these circumstances. Penalty shoot-outs do not contribute to player points.
If any matches are postponed during a Round the following will apply. If less than 50% of the planned games take place then the Round is cancelled and all bets refunded. If 50% or more of the planned games take place then the Round will go ahead.
All data relating to events in real matches is provided by PA Sport. Their decision is final.
Prizes will be paid out one hour after the final game of a particular Round. If there are any disputes after this time (such as through the Dubious Goals Committee), this will have no bearing on the outcome of the league.
Any user can create a private league and invite as many people as they like to compete. Prize structures are the same as in public games.
